 Product Description The Original SUNHEAT SH-1500, with Made in USA cabinetry, provides safe, soft, comfortable infrared warmth for any area of the home or office, up to 1,000 sq ft. This portable, supplemental, 1500 watt electronic infrared heater features a 5 year parts and labor warranty, a simple set and forget thermostat, lifetime washable filter, and heavy duty 12 gauge power cord. It cannot start a fire, is safe to operate anywhere, all the time, even around children and pets but best of all it will slash your heating costs. The infrared heater was first developed and sold in the early 1980's using four flood lamps and a flat piece of sheet metal as the heat sink. SUNHEAT International distributed this USA made product for many years before the manufacturer sold out. The mass marketing company, now selling the self proclaimed famous infrared heater, immediately started having a plastic product built overseas. In 2006, SUNHEAT went back to the drawing board and the original infrared heater was upgraded to six quartz infrared heating elements housed in 24 ounces of copper creating more even heat.
